LAST CLASS AT CROSSFIT IOWA - 5:30AM ONLY
Final Team WOD - TBA @ class
Today marks a new beginning of a new adventure...but not without brokeness.
I never once thought I would see this day. The day Crossfit Iowa officially shuts its doors after nearly 4 years of an amazing journey, an amazing dream, amazing people, amazing trainers, amazing clients, and with so much success. The countless hours of work we put in is done..it just doesn't seem real.
In August of '06 we moved back to Iowa with dreams of building a home. Instead, dreams of a small Crossfit gym soon took over. Financially this required for us to live with my mom for 15 months to make that lease payment every month. Starting with only one borrowed bar and plates, homemade ball and rings, the sacrifices paid off. There have been many trials along the way, but somehow it worked and soon the gym became our second home and second family. I can honestly say that I have accomplished all that I said I would when we began and have no regrets. Even in the midst of heartache and disappointments, we are changed people. We had no plans of closing, God did. I silently kicked and screamed for this is not what I wanted, but He reminded us, "This is not about you but Me." We had to follow in trust and obedience....and that is SOOO hard. We know we are doing the right thing by our family, business interests, and for the greater good for the CrossFit community.
We could not have done this without all of you and the sacrifices of our trainers and clients that made the gym such a great place to train and to socialize. Thank you for your support so we could live our dream..even if it was only for a little while.
As Tim prepares for his long journey overseas, I have started a family blog that will help our family stay connected as well as hopefully serve others with Faith, Family, and Fitness bits along the way. You can check it out at http://starmeradventure.blogspot.com.
Best of luck to our new friends at CrossFit 515 who are pursuing their dream of making a successful gym. It is my prayer that the people of Crossfit Iowa will have a positive impact and influence in a new atmosphere and develop new firends. I hope to see you all there (I will be there) training hard for this hard thing we call life. www.crossfit515.com.
With sincere thanks and humble hearts,
Tim and Angie
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans that I have for you...". This is what we are clinging to.

Wow, I had no idea that was going to happen. What you guys accomplished down there is awesome. Best of luck Tim & Angie as well as CrossFit 515!

Crossfit Iowa has been my second home for almost two years now. I fell in love with it the first time I stepped foot in the door. The people, the training, and the competiveness- I loved it all. Even though I am sad to see CF Iowa shutting down the doors, I know that I will always have that family and special bond with the people I have grown close to over the years. Thank you to all of you that helped me strive to become better...that helped me not only grow as an athlete but as a person. :) Being a trainer and training with all of you has brought me great joy.
As Tim always says, "train hard" and I will look forward to dropping in and seeing your progress at 515!

Thank you Angie, Tim, and all the other trainers at CrossFit Iowa. Angie, you are truly an inspiration to us all. The past year has been an amazing one for me! I have come so far since starting CrossFit. I still have a long way to go, though, so will hopefully be seeing everyone at CrossFit 515.

Wow...getting emotional reading these posts! Crossfit Iowa has definitely become a 2nd family to me - everyone there is amazing & it has been so much fun getting to know everyone. I believe crossfit has made me a better person - this is all thanks to you, Angie & Tim, for making it all happen. Let's look to the new gym as a new adventure & adding to our already wonderful (& dysfunctional at times) family! :-) I promise to be there soon. For my non-facebook friends I just spent 5 days in the hospital with pancreatitis & gallstones - just had surgery. I am looking at a 6 week recovery at least- they even had to cut through my abs. It will be just like starting over. I WILL be back - it will be tough - and I look forward to my great friends (YOU!) to help me stay tough & positive. Luv you all & hope to see everyone very soon!
